After spending almost thirty years in the window and door industry in manufacturing, production, distribution, sales, and as an architectural consultant, David Serres opened Island Sash & Door in Freeland in 2000 with little more than a cell phone and a plan-table. Catering to the custom home builder and driven by a service oriented philosophy, Island Sash & Door soon became one of the most respected and relied upon window and door suppliers – not just on Whidbey Island, but throughout much of the north sound region.
As the recession loomed on the horizon – in 2007 Island Sash & Door embraced the window retro-fit portion of the industry. Becoming one of the first companies in the entire Pacific Northwest to adopt the emerging Liquid Membrane Flashing technologies (and philosophy), they continue to lead the retro-fit industry with the only system and method that ensures protection of your home against water intrusion and have become industry leaders in “high exposure installations.”
In 2015 Island Sash & Door continued building on their successes in the acquisition of Simmonds Glass in Anacortes. The acquisition brought added depth, expertise, and a broadened line of products and services.
